Residential

From property development to a family home, residential projects require attention to detail, planning at every turn, and sensitivity to the surroundings. We pride ourselves on the relationships we have with our clients, which we find essential for delivering your vision on schedule and on budget. Our in-house team of highly qualified and experienced craftsmen value quality of work above all else - our standards are second to none.

Honor Oak Park

When the plans for The Pink House landed in our office we had quite simply never seen anything like it! Emily was wonderfully enthusiastic right from our initial meeting and her energetic personality is engrained in every aspect of this striking refurbishment. With the drainage moved, the house on steels and the Building Inspector happy, the second half of the Pink House Project is where things really came to life. From proposal to reality, the relationship between design and construction was pushed to the limit but perseverance from all involved has left one of the most unique extensions in the capital.

“We love our renovated house SO much - it’s brightening our lives every day of lockdown - and the whole renovation process itself couldn’t have gone more smoothly. We actually miss having Ian, Carl and the gang around! Andrew and Oliver were an absolute pleasure to work with and we’ve been recommending them to all our friends in South East London. Our house is now not only the ideal family home and entertaining space, but it’s also a huge hit on Instagram. Thanks so much for helping us create the house of our dreams!”

Peckham

Location: Choumert Road

Client: Tony and Stephen

Duration: 9 weeks

Choumert Road was the first installation of our new range of steel framed doors and windows. Opening up the side extension dramatically increased the amount of natural light into the room, highlighting the bespoke kitchen hand crafted by our in-house joiner Nicholas Davis. Painted with Farrow and Ball, the deep blue is complemented by ice white Corian worktops and traditional exposed brickwork.

“The guys on site were all extremely helpful and talented and we fully intend to use AndrewPenny for further work we do to our house. We couldn’t recommend them more highly.”

Peckham

Location: Copleston Road

Client: Richard Cleeve and Lucas Webb

Duration: 32 weeks

After months of careful planning - drawings, structural calculations, planning permission, schedule of works - our team was mobilised and ready to go. This project was going to be testing from the start, with a huge excavation beside a public road; with masses of earth to remove, tons of concrete to pour, huge steel beams to install, thousands of bricks to lay, a whole house to completely remodel and renovate, safety and extensive management were absolutely key. With our clients wanting this to be their long term home, we designed and built bespoke joinery throughout the property. Never to shy away from complex projects, our team completed this on time and on budget.

“Andrew and his team were flexible, professional, and personable. We chose Andrew because we liked who he was and what he stood for. His team were all good natured, professional, genuine, hard-working people. We liked them all a lot. We’d happily have a drink with any or all of them.”

Designed by the famous 19th century architect Norman Shaw, this lovely period house was in need of some TLC before Connor and Sally made it into the wonderful home they enjoy today. Sally’s classic style is consistent throughout from the top floor with a hidden en-suite, dormer windows and a Juliet balcony to the lower side extension. Opening up the kitchen and dining room created a bright open space with natural light flooding in through the skylights and bi-folding doors leading to a gorgeous summer courtyard.

“They were with us in total for six months and it was a pleasure to have them around. Courteous, tidy and inventive when presented with a tricky problem. The quote was detailed and well thought out, and the job came in on budget.

I would highly recommend for similar work.”

This high street basement was transformed into an upmarket two bedroom, two bathroom apartment. We overcame the complexities you would expect with a subterranean build, working parallel with award winning ZAP Architecture. A blend of market leading lighting technology and Italian marble elevates the property to the height of city trend.

barbican

Location: Bunyan Court

Client: Tim and Yvonne Parker

Duration: 8 weeks

As the Barbican estate is a Grade II listed development our design and build team had to take a number of factors into consideration before construction could begin. Working closely with the Estate Office, District Surveyor and Listed Consent we accommodated their requirements with the aspirations of home owners Tim and Yvonne. Developing a barrel vaulted into two bedrooms, including a separate bathroom, pushed the boundaries of space efficiency, while incorporating their personal touches and being sympathetic to the original design of this unique building posed its own challenges.

“We have been delighted with the result. The work was completed to a high standard and on schedule. Andy looked after all planning permission and listed building issues.

We would highly recommend him for any similar project.”

Designed by Architect Yan Lau, this flat was in total disrepair. We stripped back to its bare Victorian bones and re-configured with cast iron radiators and bespoke joinery. Smart design and efficient use of space suited this flat and the owners’ quest for clean and simple living.

“Full gut renovation of Victorian 2 bed to 3 bed ground floor flat - Andy and team were great to work with. Very flexible, consultative and delivered a great quality of finish.”
